Well we have completed our first month on the trip.
We are having a wonderful time as we hope you can tell from our diaries.
It is everything and more than we had planned. |
 |
This month we traveled 822 miles (Week 1- 227;
Week 2-232; Week 3- 207; Week 4-156) |
 |
We were under way for 92 hours. |

**My
favorites have included the secluded anchorages; the dolphins playing in
our wake; spotting Dolphins before breakfast and along the ICW at all
different points; seeing the Manatee's in Melbourne; our dingy rides in
Cocoa and Georgetown; the horse drawn carriage ride in Charleston; the
old houses of the South; spending time with Austin and watching him get
so big and smart!; going to the spa for massages and walking around all
the towns along the way. **Things that have been a little
nerve-wracking include: the torrential downpour and storm that we got
caught in, the first grounding of the boat, and some of our docking
experiences (due to tough currents or rain). |

**My favorites
for this month were the beginning of an adventure of a life time with my
wife and new son. The Bon Voyage party in Fort Pierce was an awesome way
to begin. I want to add a special thanks to J.D. and Karen for dinner.
We had a great time and it was nice to see everyone before leaving for
six months. Another favorite was the ride to New Smyrna where we saw
about eight dolphins playing in the water and around the boat. Arriving
at our marina in New Smyrna, the Riverview Restaurant and Hotel and
Marina was great. As soon as we docked the dolphins were all around the
dock; it was awesome. Then we got to see my family from Mt. Dora and
Tanya's mom came up to see us for a night. St. Augustine and Charleston
are two of my favorite stops so far along the way. My least favorite
time was in Sebastian, FL. where we came into a huge storm with 50-60mph
winds and blinding rain. We were blown out of the channel and luckily we
did not go aground. Another was a soft grounding of the boat when
leaving our anchorage south of Savannah, GA. |
